Selection Criteria

To ensure a balanced and successful season, The MAIN will consider the following criteria when selecting productions and determining run length (one-week or two-week productions):

• Artistic Merit:
  • Strength of the script and narrative
  • Originality and creative vision
  • Quality of the proposed direction and design

• Audience Engagement:
  • Potential to attract and connect with diverse audiences
  • Relevance to the Santa Clarita community
  • Balance of familiar and challenging works
  • Consideration of audience interests and demographics

• Marketing Effort:
  • Detailed strategy to promote the event and reach the target audience through various marketing channels

• Practical Feasibility:
  • Alignment with The MAIN’s technical capabilities and stage specifications
  • Availability of performance rights and licenses
  • Venue availability and scheduling

• Revenue:
  • A review of past revenues from your productions at The MAIN
• Run Length & Scheduling:

One-week or two-week productions will be assigned based on:

• • Overall strength of the proposal
  • Anticipated audience demand
  • Past performance history (if applicable)
  • Seasonal programming needs and calendar availability
