10 by 10 is a variety night giving ten selected entertainers the chance to take the stage for a ten minute performance of their choosing. Audience members will enjoy storytelling, magic, comedy, improv, music, and other forms of entertainment at this ever changing event. Admission is FREE!
We are interested in short live theatre pieces, improv, comedy, magic, dance, monologues, music, and anything else you think might entertain an audience. Each month, ten performers will be selected to perform a 10-minute piece. All types of art forms are accepted and considered; however, there are some restrictions on live music. Performers are responsible for their own property.

Thursdays@Newhall’s 10 by 10 variety show continues to amuse and entertain attendees month after month. This free evening of entertainment is one you won’t want to miss.
STORYTELLING | Mike Dougherty
Experience the first-hand account of growing up in the last frontier – Alaska, with a humorous twist. Mike will entertain you with his funny stories and thoughts about his place of birth.
STORYTELLING | Raja Michael
Raja is a New York-born, Los Angeles based stand-up comic, writer, and story teller. She is known for delivering hard truths with big laughs. She has a joint comedy album with comic Lenny Shelton called “Brownie Points” available on all major streaming platforms.
MUSIC | Sarah VanSciver
Sarah is a professional composer, arranger, singer, pianist, and harpist – writing for film and theatre and as a singer-songwriter. A recent graduate of the Performer-Composer M.F.A. program at the California Institute of the Arts, she received her B.A. in Music at the University of Pennsylvania as well as a Professional Certificate in General Music Studies from Berklee College of Music.
STORYTELLING | Victoria Sayeg
Victoria is a freelance writer, poet, director and producer from Los Angeles. In 2012 her short story “Itch” was one of 14 pieces of literature selected from a nationwide call for entries her work was exhibited at Art on the Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas, during their annual “Art and Words” exhibit. At the event, she was asked to read one of her pieces during the opening night gala.
COMEDY | Rick Asperger
Richard is not only an accomplished standup comic with a regular spot at the iconic Ice House, he is a multifaceted creative force. Among his many accomplishments, he is the author and photographer of the award-winning book on homelessness ‘L.A. a la Cart.’
MUSIC | Abby Lions
A favorite on the 10 by 10 stage, Abby is a singer-songwriter, composer, pianist, and ukulele player. Abby graduated from CalArts in 2016. She regularly posts short covers on Instagram, and original songs on YouTube.
MAGIC | Brian Hoffman
Brian Hoffman is a Magician Member of the world famous Magic Castle and KIDabra. He lives and works in Santa Clarita, and enjoys gives back to his hometown.
FILM | CLOSING DOORS
Just in time for Valentine’s Day! A comedy about love…or not? In this film, directed by Elizabeth Rial, our main character Amanda gets her day off to a noisy start as she encounters one frustration after another culminating, with her getting rid of the biggest thorn in her side – the guy she is dating.
COMEDY | Maria Delgado
Maria has performed at The Ice House in Pasadena, the world famous Comedy Store in West Hollywood and several other venues throughout the Los Angeles area.
MAGIC | Chris Lopez
Winner of international magic awards, Chris Lopez has headlined renowned magic shows throughout the United States, Canada and Italy. Chris is a frequent weekend brunch performer at the world-famous Magic Castle.
